KÔGÔ – Rare et ravissant petit kogo formant coquillage en laque brun et or, nashiji, hiramaki-e et togidashi. Incrustations de coquillages en or, argent, nacre et corail et décors d’algues marines en laque d’or. Revers avec un fond en hirameji. Dimensions : 5 x 7 cm. Japon Edo (1603-1868) XVIIIe, tout début du XIXe siècle. Ce type de motifs connus sous le nom de Kai to Kaiso apparaît au XVIe siècle et est très à la mode toute la première période de l’époque Edo au Japon.

Shells executed in gold, silver and mother-of-pearl. Technique of nashiji, hiramaki-e, brown and black takamaki-e. Nashiji lacquer inside. Back with hirameji ground. Size : 5 x 7 cm. Japan Edo (1603-1868) 18th, early 19th century. The motif chosen, known as Kai to Kaiso (shells and eelgrass) first appears in 16th century became very polpular in the early Edo period.
