Chabako – Important coffret pour la cérémonie du thé, Japon Edo XVIIe Important chabako de forme rectangulaire avec les angles galbés et le couvercle légèrement bombé. Décor en laque d’or suivant les techniques de hiramakie, takamakie et kirikane sur un fond noir. Il représente un riche paysage lacustre avec rochers et bateau. La scène continue sur les côtés du coffret, dont les pins sont soulignés par des feuilles d’argent. L’intérieur du couvercle au fond nashiji, présente un riche décor de pins, érables et plantes sur des petites collines au bord de l’eau. A Lacquer Chabako – Tea Ceremony Utensils Box, Japan Edo 17th Japan Edo (1603 – 1868) 17th century The rectangular box with indented corners, slightly domed close-fitting cover and high interior rim, the black lacquer ground decorated in gold hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, kirikane and silver foil, the cover depicting a boat beside a rocky outcrop with trees, two sides of the box with a continuous riverbank scene and the other two sides depicting hills, trees and stylised water, the interior of the cover decorated with pine, maple, flowers and grasses on hills beside water against a nashiji ground, the box interior in sparse nashiji, pewter rims. 19.7 cm (wide).
