NETSUKE – A large and fine model of a toad, in a typical position, with his body turned slightly to the right. It crouches facing ahead with its feet folded beneath and its knobbly skin. Its eyes are inlaid in horn. Nice color with a beautiful patina of the wood. Japan Echigo – EDO (1603 – 1868) – Early XIXth century.
