NETSUKE – Rat en bois sculpté

 

 

 

NETSUKE en bois sculpté, représentant un ravissant modele d’un petit rat se léchant la queue qu’il retient entre ses petites pattes avant. Les yeux sont incrustés. Non signé. Jolie patine naturelle du bois. Hauteur : 2,5 cm. Japon fin Edo, tout début Meiji, fin du XIXe siècle. Un exemple similaire en ivoire par Okatori dans la collection M.T Hindson par Neil Davey.
NETSUKE of a rat, seated holding with his forepaws his long tail, which is washed, the broader part of the tail resting on his hind legs. The eyes are inlaid. A beautiful and finely wood carved modele with an nice patina. Unsigned. Height : In. Japan en of Edo, early Meiji (1868-1912) Late 19th century. A similar modele of Okatori n°200 of the M.T Hindson Collection by Neil Davey.
